We know you’re busy as a new parent but… it’s recommended to bring baby in for their first eye examination around 6 months old! Since this cutie came to see us recently, it’s the perfect opportunity to share more about what happens during a little one’s visit 👶
An infant eye exam is done a bit differently than what you’re used to. Instead of using certain machines and equipment or reading an eye chart, some things we’ll do to check their eyes and vision include ⬇️
👀 examine the eye’s structure + eyelids, tear ducts and other parts of the eye
👀 evaluate the front and back of the eye with a hand-held ophthalmoscope
👀 using a hand-held light to check pupil function
Scheduling a comprehensive infant eye exam is the best way to check that they are developing on track! Call us to make an appointment 📲
